My Favorite Post-Workout Smoothie

After a morning workout I feel like I need something that is filling and healthy but will still give me  that boost of energy I need to get my day going. Protein shakes are great for taking on-the-go since I usually don’t have much time between the gym and work, but they can get really boring if you’re having them every day so, I decided it was time to try something easy and delicious for a morning pick-me-up.

I tried looking for something that was delicious and also had the amount of protein I needed after an intensive workout and came up with this AH-MAZING treat. And it only took about 5 minutes to make.

Here is what you’ll need:

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup of almond milk (this is what I use because I’m trying to cut back on dairy but any kind will do)
  • 1 handful of spinach
  • 2 tbsp of peanut butter (or if you prefer almond or cashew butter, they should work as well)
  • 1 -2 tbsp of Hemp seeds/powder

Now all you have to do is blend all of the items together. I only put in 1 Tbsp of the hemp seeds so that I can use the other tbsp to top it off. The frozen banana will give it an amazing consistency and the  banana and peanut butter make it slightly sweet so it feels like you’re indulging but everything in there is SO HEALTHY!
