Spicy Oven Rosted Chickpeas

Anyone who knows me, knows I LOVE spicy food and I get cravings for something spicy several times during the week. The problem is these spicy snacks are cheap but probably not very healthy for me so I knew I had to find an alternative while still getting my spicy, tasty snacks. This is where oven roasted chickpeas came about. They are so simple to make and take only a couple minutes. They have a great kick to them and they’re great for taking on the go.

Here’s what you’ll need:

– 3 cans of chickpeas (I use 3 so I can make more at once instead of many small batches)

– Olive Oil

– Paprika

– Ground Pepper

– Cayenne Pepper

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Open the cans of chickpeas, drain and wash them and dry them by rolling them in paper towel. Pour all of the washed chickpeas into a baking tray and spread them all over (I cover mine in tin foil so it’s easier to clean up). Drizzle the chickpeas in olive oil making sure to get some on all of them but don’t drench them of they will get soggy while cooking. Sprinkle all of the spices all over the chickpeas (and feel free to add any other spices you wish, these are just my favourites). Once the oven is done heating up put the tray in the oven and let them bake for 25 minutes or until golden and crispy. Make sure to toss the tray every 10 minutes to ensure they’re baked evenly. Once they are done, take them out and piur them into a bowl and they’re ready to enjoy!
