Nutribullet:
If you’re a woman (or man) on-the-go and are taking the steps to be healthy, a nutribullet, or at least a strong blender is a MUST. I opted for my nutribullet because the same cup I use to blend comes with a lid so I can blend and go (AKA probably running to catch the bus to work). Not only do I use it to make smoothies like my fave post-workout smoothie (here), but also for soups – Red lentil, butternut squash is my current go-to (recipe coming real soon!), protein pancakes (also coming soon), and for my Brazilian nut energy truffles (here) – or any other protein energy ball. The options are endless really.
Spiralizer:
When you’re trying to eat healthy a colorful plate is never wrong, and a spiralizer is a great way to bring in some colorful veggies (or fruit) into your plate in a different and exciting way. I use this to make zucchini or yellow squash noodles and beet slaw on the reg. and its AMAZING. But my personal favorite way to use it is to spiralize fruit – I’m not sure if this is an El Salvador thing but stay with me. Spiralized mango or apple with a dash salt, some lemon and maybe even some hot sauce are great. Again, this is such an easy way to make a snack more fun and I promise you when I say it takes 3 minutes, MAX.
I opted for the cheaper one (because HELLO, broke law school student drowning in debt) and it gets the job done, no problem – this is the one. But if you’re committed feel free to splurge. Either way, this is a great tool to have and possibilities for its use are endless.
Tupperware & Swell bottle:
As I’ve said before, I’m always on the move which means I eat on the go A LOT. I also meal prep EVERY week so I can take my food on go which helps both my wallet and my health so I need something to lug all of my food.
These glass containers are perfect for storing your food to bring to the office, or school, or even road trip. These paired with my swell bottle, which keeps my drinks cold OR hot all day are LIFE.
The things above are things you can easily ~splurge~ on once and use DAILY. Not only will they help you tremendously with keeping a healthier lifestyle but they are also helping the environment. Think about it – if you’re using the same nutribullet cup as your to-go cup that’s one less plastic or Styrofoam cup. Same goes for the swell bottle (or any reusable bottle really, instead of buying plastic bottles from the grocery store. And of course re-using your Tupperware as opposed to the disposable containers from restaurants goes a long way.
