If you’ve been reading my recent posts, you probably know I’m always looking for some healthy on-the-go food and snacks for pre- and post-gym workouts or to simply snack on when I get little cravings (or you can read about it here and also here). Well… I recently received one of Influenster’s Vox Boxes for their Slim Fast campaign and their stuff is exactly the kind of snacks I’m always looking for.

I received a box with:

So here is my full and unabridged review:

I  LOVED the creamy chocolate protein shake – 1. because it is lactose and gluten free (I’ve cut down on dairy for about a year now) 2. because its great for on the go and also serves as a meal replacement so I can have it after the gym for those 20g of protein or in the morning when i’m not too hungry but still need something to get my day started. The 100 calorie packs actually taste really great but they’re not something I would buy too often as I prefer to get my calories in on something like fruit or veggies. However, for times when I cant refrigerate my snacks these are definitely a great tasty alternative. Last, I also really loved the meal replacement bar. At times sitting at my desk working or at times when I’ve got a million things to do, it’s really easy for me to focus on getting that stuff done and I COMPLETELY forget I didn’t eat until I’m at the point where I’ll eat anything in sight (and probably binge on something unhealthy). These meal replacement bars are great because they’re packed with Protein and Fiber and they taste great also, so I can grab them and keep them at my desk or car until I have a chance to make something for myself.

Overall, I’m happy I got to be a part of this VoxBox because I don’t think I ever would’ve gone for these snacks while shopping, because I’m not necessarily trying to lose weight and I’ve always categorized SlimFast in the lose weight section of my brain. But, now that I know their benefits and that they taste good, I can keep them in mind next time I’m out grocery shopping and know they’re great work snacks and post-workout alternatives too.
